The U.S. military first introduced the L-2B Flight Jacket in the early 1950s as a solution for servicemen who were operating in light temperature zones (50 to 86 degrees F). When it was first issued, the L-2B was used primarily by Air Force pilots and ground personnel but went on to adopted by several other branches. Alpha Industries was awarded its first contract to make L-2B flight jackets for the U.S. government in 1960. In the 1970s we started to make the bomber for the commercial market. Now with our Spring 2015 Collection we are introducing modern variations of the iconic lightweight flight jacket.

Affiliate AD/$, The Valor Flight Jacket is an update to our classic MA-1 Flight Jacket. The Valor is a modern-fitting intermediate-weight jacket with 100% flight nylon outer shell. Front storm flap, polyester fill and knit collar, cuffs and waistband provide extra warmth and wind protection. Also features, two front flap pockets with snap closures and heavy gauge metal zipper. Special screen printing under front pocket and on rear shoulder region gives a distinct flair on the Valor. Sage and Maroon styles feature exclusive printed cloud-camo twill lining. Replica Blue and Black sport the same traditional Emergency Orange lining found on the original MA-1 Flight Jacket. Inspired by the Classic MA-1 Water repellent 100% flight nylon shell Black "Airborne" text and code screen print under left front pocket (approx. 4-inch x 1-inch) Black "Sky Soldier" text and code screen print on back right shoulder (approx. 4-inch x 2-inch) Non-reversible Polyester filled lining,Merchant AD/$
